The vibe? Total secret base. You have to pass through a series of small doors just to reach the dining area. It’s dim, moody, and incredibly intimate, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to fully immerse yourself in a culinary journey. Bonus points: there’s a designated smoking area right across the small door for those who need it.
Here’s what hit the table:
🔹 Seafood Zousui (Japanese Porridge)
🔹 Grilled Mountain Yam with Mentaiko
🔹 Handmade Chicken Meatballs
The Seafood Zousui was a literal showstopper. The bowl was overflowing with fresh ingredients, and every single spoonful was a flavor bomb of seafood essence. The broth was incredibly sweet and clean—pure comfort in a bowl.
Now, the Grilled Mountain Yam was actually my friend’s order (I’m usually not a fan of the texture), but after one bite, I couldn’t stop. The mentaiko topping was the perfect salty kick, and the yam itself had this natural sweetness and a satisfying crunch. This is officially the only way I’ll eat yam from now on. Highly recommend!
The Chicken Meatballs were the ultimate late-night snack. Think charred, crispy skin on the outside and insanely juicy on the inside. Dip them into that rich egg yolk, and it’s game over. I totally get why this place is a cult favorite now.
Fair warning: the house rules are pretty strict. But honestly? It felt like they were designed to make sure everyone stays focused on the food and the craft. The staff was actually super gentle and welcoming, and you can really feel the soul they put into every dish.
