Taipei’s Secret Night View Spot: Jiannan Mountain Will Blow Your Mind!

│Neihu, Taipei: Jiannan Mountain Night View│

Okay, so you’re hitting up Taipei, right? And you’re probably thinking, “Where do I catch those epic city lights?” Most folks immediately think of the usual suspects: Yangmingshan (especially behind Chinese Culture University), Xiangshan (Elephant Mountain) for that iconic Taipei 101 shot, or maybe Bishanyan. And sure, those spots are great, no shade! But let me spill the tea on a real game-changer: Jiannan Mountain. This place used to be a total hidden gem, practically deserted, a spot only locals in the know would whisper about. Then, boom! The super-hit Taiwanese drama “In Time With You” featured our beloved main characters, Da Ren and You Qing, having deep talks over beers with Taipei’s dazzling cityscape as their backdrop right here. And just like that, Jiannan Mountain blew up! It went from secret rendezvous point to one of the hottest night view destinations in town. Seriously, it’s that good.

So, where is this magical place, you ask? Jiannan Mountain Night View is tucked away in Neihu, on the road that winds its way up towards Waishuangxi, super close to Dazhi. Getting there is pretty straightforward: hop on the Taipei MRT to Jiannan Road Station, then just follow Jiannan Road up the mountain. A few twists and turns later, and BAM! You’ll be greeted by an absolutely jaw-dropping panorama of Taipei, the city that truly never sleeps. From up here, you can spot the majestic Taipei 101 standing tall in the distance, watch planes gracefully landing and taking off from Songshan Airport, glimpse the bustling Shin Kong Mitsukoshi department store, and take in the sheer vastness of Dajia Riverside Park. It’s all there, laid out like a glittering carpet before your very eyes.

Jiannan Mountain Night View: ㊙ The Secret Route Revealed!

Just a heads-up: I’m using daytime pics for these directions so you can actually see what’s going on, but trust me, it’s even better at night!

To kick things off, head to Jiannan Road from Anquan Road in Neihu, right next to the MRT Jiannan Road Station.

You’ll soon hit a small pavilion. That’s your first landmark!

Keep riding up the mountain road. You’ll encounter your first fork in the road – hang a right and keep heading up.

After that, you’ll pass a military camp. Don’t stop, just keep on cruising up!

Next, you’ll hit a second fork in the road. Again, stick to the right and keep going straight up.

Then, you’ll see a green sign for “Zhengyuan Temple” at the third fork. Follow that sign!

But here’s the trick: don’t actually go into Zhengyuan Temple. Just keep going past it. A word to the wise: this road can be a bit narrow, with some gravel and muddy patches. It’s really not built for cars, so seriously, save yourself the headache and take a scooter. It’s way easier to navigate and pass oncoming traffic (or lack thereof).

You’ll pass another military camp further up. Just keep on truckin’ up the mountain!

Almost there! You’ll see yet another military camp (don’t go down here). Go straight past it to the very last fork in the road, then make a right.

Keep going straight, and congratulations, you’ve officially made it to the Jiannan Mountain Night View spot!

You’ll find a perfect little parking area for your scooter right here at the Jiannan Mountain Night View location in Neihu. Enjoy the view!
