Even if the Sky Falls, You Need This French Toast in Taichung

So, there’s this spot in Taichung that’s been blowing up for its French toast, and honestly? I totally get the hype. They don’t take reservations, so it’s a total “show up and pray” situation. We swung by on a Saturday around noon and managed to snag two spots at the bar. Talk about luck!

The French Pudding Toast
This is easily in my top three favorite French toasts of all time. The first bite was an absolute game-changer. You *have* to eat it while it’s piping hot to experience that melt-on-your-tongue happiness (I know that sounds dramatic, but I’m not even kidding 😂).

It’s perfectly moist, dusted with a bit of powdered sugar, and served with honey and caramelized bananas on the side. Pro tip: if you’re not a total sugar addict like me, maybe skip the honey. It can be a bit much and might drown out that amazing eggy aroma and the soft, crispy texture of the toast. Definitely a dish made for sharing!

Boozy Tiramisu
A solid 8/10. It has just a hint of alcohol—nothing too crazy—and the texture is spot on. Not too sweet, which is exactly how I like it.

Signature Coffee – “Baihua”
Super refreshing! My only gripe is that the honey kind of overpowers the coffee notes. It tastes more like a honey lemon spritzer with a tiny whisper of coffee in the background.

Sourdough with Avocado & Crispy Bacon
The only savory item we got, and as a “savory food girlie,” this was an instant 100 points for me. I’m a sucker for sourdough, and this one was toasted to perfection.

It’s piled high with fluffy omelet, avocado, and bacon, making every bite a flavor explosion. I’m usually not an avocado fan, but their avocado mash is seasoned with a tangy, salty kick that I absolutely loved. Seriously satisfying!

Overall, such a great experience. The vibe here is immaculate—especially with the skylight and that cool moon installation. Just a heads-up: keep your “main character energy” at a reasonable volume, or the staff will gently remind you to pipe down. I’m definitely coming back to try more of their specialty coffee!
