Step Back in Time & Sip Nature: Sanxia’s Old Street & Green Tea Paradise in New Taipei!

│New Taipei, Sanxia. Sanxia Old Street│

New Taipei’s Sanxia Old Street? Oh honey, you’re in for a treat! Picture this: a stroll down memory lane, surrounded by gorgeous, well-preserved Baroque-style buildings. Every door tells a story, literally – their family names are the shop names, a throwback to the good old days when businesses proudly displayed their lineage. Walking through those continuous red brick corridors, you can still feel the echoes of its former glory. Want more info? Hit up `Taipei Travel Network`!

Tucked away at the southern end of Minquan Street, this isn’t just *any* old street. We’re talking about the longest and best-preserved old street in Northern Taiwan, clocking in at around 200 meters. Back in the day, from the Japanese colonial era to the early Republic, this was THE place to be for commerce. Merchants would carve their family names into the walls – their original branding, you know? Everything and anything was traded right here on this bustling commercial strip.

Look up, seriously! These buildings aren’t just pretty faces. Each one is adorned with rich floral patterns and totems. That vase symbol? It’s for ‘peace’ (ping an, get it?). And the Bagua? That’s to ‘ward off evil.’ These weren’t your average mom-and-pop shops either. We’re talking big-shot families, folks with serious status, who imported top-notch building materials from overseas. Talk about fancy!

Okay, so it’s not as bustling as it once was, but thanks to some dedicated locals who fought tooth and nail to keep its original vibe, we still get to soak in all that historical goodness. It’s a real treat for us history buffs and Instagrammers alike!
