Itinerary Overview: Today, we’re diving deep into Taipei! We’ll hit up all the iconic landmarks and soak in the nostalgic charm of Old Taipei. Think Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, Beimen (North Gate), and Longshan Temple – seriously historical spots. Then we’re hitting two of Taipei’s hottest shopping districts: Ximending and Taipei 101 Mall. Get ready for some serious retail therapy and sightseeing!

Day 03

Taipei → Sun Moon Lake

Itinerary Overview: After a delicious breakfast at the hotel this morning, we’re off by bus to the heart of Taiwan – Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area. Wander amidst lush greenery and serene waters, then head to Ita Thao pier to soak in the indigenous culture. Hike up Ci’en Pagoda for a breathtaking bird’s-eye view of the entire scenic area. We’ll wrap up the day with visits to Xuanguang Temple and Wenwu Temple.

Itinerary: Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area → Ita Thao → Ci’en Pagoda → Xuanguang Temple → Wenwu Temple

Sun Moon Lake is Taiwan’s largest freshwater lake. Its emerald-green waters are crystal clear, surrounded by picturesque mountains. It’s been home to the indigenous Thao people since ancient times, with Lalu Island being their sacred and mystical heartland.

Ita Thao, meaning ‘we are human’ in the Thao language, is a vibrant indigenous village. Here, you can feast on delicious local treats like millet mochi, millet wine, and wild boar dishes. Yum!

Perched on Shabalan Mountain at an elevation of 954 meters (3130 feet), Ci’en Pagoda literally touches the sky, making it an unmistakable landmark of Sun Moon Lake.

Itinerary Overview: We’re heading by bus to Tainan, Taiwan’s oldest city! Known for its rich historical architecture and deep cultural heritage, Tainan was one of the first areas developed in Taiwan. There’s a saying, ‘First Tainan, then Lugang, then Wanhua,’ with ‘Tainan’ referring to the old capital, which is now Anping District. Today, Anping is Tainan’s most popular tourist and foodie hotspot, packed with famous historical sites like Anping Fort, Anping Old Street, and remnants of foreign trading houses from centuries ago.

Day 05

Kaohsiung → Kenting → Taitung

We’ll kick things off at Kenting National Park, then head to the southernmost tip of Taiwan to visit the iconic Eluanbi Lighthouse. Next, we’ll cruise north along the stunning Jia’e Highway, passing between Eluanbi and Fengchuisha, until we reach Longpan Park. Get ready to soak in all the breathtaking beauty of southern Kenting and truly experience the magic of Mother Nature!

We’ll be hitting up scenic spots like Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping, and Fanshuliao, each boasting its own unique and absolutely stunning geological features. Trust me, your camera won’t know what hit it! Tonight, get ready to unwind in a luxurious hot spring resort in Jiaoxi, Yilan, famous for its northern Taiwan hot springs. We’ll take a smooth and speedy train ride to get there – Taiwan’s rail system is seriously impressive!

Itinerary: Taitung → Xiaoyeliu → Sanxiantai → Shitiping → Fanshuliao → Jiaoxi
